Join us for a powerful screening of Exodus, a timely and deeply moving documentary capturing the urgent humanitarian crisis unfolding at the U.S.-Mexico border. Set in late 2019, the film takes viewers to Agua Prieta, Sonora, where the only migrant shelter in the city begins to fill with entire families fleeing violence in the Mexican state of Guerrero and seeking political asylum. The documentary highlights the courage and resilience of shelter workers who refuse to be silent and are determined to give voice to the very people who are fleeing for their lives. Trailer:
This event will include a simple meal during the screening, which will then be followed by a live Q&A with C.A.M.E. shelter Director Betto and his wife, Perla, a civil rights attorney, offering an opportunity to dive deeper into the stories behind the film, the current asylum landscape, and the role of cross-border solidarity. Don’t miss this eye-opening documentary and discussion that challenges what we think we know about migration and the invisible crises shaping it.
