Murnau's adaptation of Goethe's tragic 1808 play is among the most ambitious achievements of German Expressionist cinema, and his last German production before his move to Los Angeles. Starring Gösta Ekman as Faust and Emil Jannings as Mephisto, this visually ravishing film will leave a lasting impression. With live musical accompaniment by Adrian Bond and atmospheric projections by Joseph Karr.
