Season 2026 is HERE!! Maxine will be coming back to teach Flight - 1 103, 101 & 102 Canopy Courses at Chicagoland Skydiving Center on the 10th, 11th and 12th July 2026.“The Active Pilot” (101): Say hello to Joe Jumper, our fully animated, three dimensional, pilot! Joe, along with your Flight-1 Instructor, will introduce the fundamentals of canopy flight to ensure consistent, soft landings. Together, they will ensure you fully understand the correct flare technique and develop the ability to debrief personal performance. The course re-defines flight planning using modern techniques and tools, to give you confidence in your accuracy.
“Developing Our Range” (102): Joe Jumper takes you through a series of in-air exercises to explore the complete range of the canopy. You will be given more safety and survival tools, including controlled turns using different inputs, dive recoveries and how to deal with a long spot. Experience and preparation for emergency situations in differing conditions is the key to this course.
Flight 101 & 102 courses satisfy the requirements for USPA's Canopy Piloting Proficiency Card for your B license and go way above and beyond them.
"Modern Accuracy” (103) Expanding on what you learned in 101 & 102, this course will provide you with all the tools to master your accuracy, whether landing at your home DZ, a new DZ, during a demo, or when making quick decisions during an off-DZ landing. This accuracy course will teach you advanced techniques to ensure you land precisely where you intend to.
