Join us on Earth Day 2026 to clean up Flat Branch Creek, the origin of the settlement of Columbia, Missouri and the reason we are all here today! This creek drains a large part of central Columbia and runs along the MKT Trail. PLEASE NOTE: This cleanup will require volunteers to wade in the creek- anywhere from ankle to waist-deep. Wear work-appropriate clothing. Long pants are strongly recommended but shorts may be desired for those wading in the creek. Sturdy shoes or boots are always a good idea but also bringing a pair of shoes you are comfortable getting wet will be important.
Sites stretches will be pre-scouted to note depth and ability level. All ages are welcome!
