Whether you're a beginner or an enthusiast looking to enhance your skills, this hands-on workshop will demystify flash photography and teach you how to use your on-camera flash effectively to create well-lit, dynamic images.
Led by an experienced Pro-Photographer Cj Swaby (MA, RPS) you'll learn essential techniques to achieve a natural and creative looks with your flash. Through practical exercises and expert guidance, you'll discover how to control exposure, modify light, and use flash creatively for portraits, events, and low-light situations.
We'll start at the iconic Graffiti Tunnels (Leake St) and explore different lighting scenarios in the surrounding area so that you can gain invaluable experience in multiple dynamic lighting environments, increasing your confidence and ability to handle any situation.
Each participant will receive a pdf resources pack, including bonus material after the workshop.

- Understanding flash settings (TTL, Rear curtain sync, Front curtain sync, Manual mode etc)
- Balancing flash with ambient light
- Techniques for reducing harsh shadows and achieving natural results
- Using modifiers (diffusers, bounce techniques) to shape light
- Flash photography tips for portraits, events, and indoor shooting
