What to Expect
Develop strength, rhythm, and expressive grace through the following components:
Warm-up: Dynamic stretching and foundational exercises to prepare the joints, with a focus on correct posture and core alignment.
Footwork Technique (Zapateado): Training in the percussive mechanics of the feet, including "golpes," "plantas," "tacones," and "puntas" to create precise rhythmic patterns.
Armwork & Marking (Braceo y Marcajes): Development of fluid and elegant movements of the arms and hands, coordinated with "marking" steps across the floor.
Fan Technique (Manejo del Abanico): Technical practice of opening and closing the fan with precision (the "clack"), wrist rotations, and the integration of the fan as an expressive extension of movement.
Choreography: Integration of all technical elements into a musical sequence, focusing on stylistic interpretation, timing, and performance:)
Bethany Ramirez
Originally from San Diego, California, Bethany moved to Aguascalientes, Mexico, at the age of 5. One year later, she began her dance training in classical ballet, which provided the technical rigor for her later specialization in Spanish Dance and Flamenco. Now 23 years old, she carries a professional trajectory of international experience.
Her academic background includes nine years at the "Georges Berard" University of the Arts and four years with the Triana Spanish Dance Company. She has refined her technique under mentors like Siudy Garrido and Karime Amaya, mastering zapateado, improvisation, and traditional elements. Her professional experience includes solo performances and collaborating with orchestras and jazz ensembles.
