Save the date! The 2025 Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival (FMFF) will occur Thursday - Sunday, April 3-6, 2025 at the historic Orpheum Theater and other locations in Downtown Flagstaff, AZ!Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival [https://flagstaffmountainfilms.org/] celebrates 23 years of the best in outdoor adventure, cultural, social and environmental films from around the world.
The Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival’s mission is to provide an alternative cinematic experience that inspires, educates and entertains, and to celebrate, promote, nurture and teach documentary film making.
Immerse yourself in captivating powerful cultural stories, high-octane adventures, and ground-breaking environmental documentaries. Every film is chosen for its potential to provoke thought and stimulate conversation.
The host city of Flagstaff — just one hour south of the Grand Canyon and two hours north of Phoenix is a thriving university town with over 65,000 recreationally and culturally minded residents. The majesty of the San Francisco Peaks, the ecological diversity of the Colorado Plateau, and the proximity of the Hopi and Navajo Nations provide for an ideal setting to celebrate documentary film. For the past 22 years, outdoor and film enthusiasts from across the state, region and world have enjoyed a high-quality film experience while soaking up the breathtaking beauty of Northern Arizona.
The fest brings together filmmakers, artists, thought-leaders, athletes, activists, poets, businesses, organizations, creators, and trailblazers to share the love of storytelling.
Join us for four days of film premieres, filmmaker panels, book releases, author talks, a community run/walk, VIP events, and many gatherings celebrating the rich cultural tapestry of this community.
This is a single-use plastic-free event in partnership with local environmental and sustainability leader Azulita Project. [https://www.azulitaproject.org/]
The Azulita Project is a nonprofit partner of the fest, working closely together for over three years in order to tackle plastic pollution and build a single-use plastic-free festival. First achieved in 2018, the partnership is going from strength to strength in terms of community engagement and awareness of the issue. The Azulita team works with the fest on all aspects of event planning, marketing, promotion, and shares the costs of using alternatives to plastic across all the venues this film festival supports.
