Bill Memorial Library will host Groton resident Charles Ebbinghaus for an informative program on flags of the American Revolution on Saturday, June 20, at 1 PM. Ebbinghaus is a flag collector and vexillologist, an expert on the history, symbolism and use of flags. He will display flags from his collection during his talk. A Groton city resident for more than 60 years, Ebbinghaus developed a keen interest in history, particularly military history, while in elementary school. He has had a lifelong passion for flags, specifically those used to track movement on battle maps. For 36 years, he was a chemist at Pfizer.
