Flags for Our Heroes - Opening Ceremony

We are drawing close to the launch date for what we plan to make a new Annandale Rotary and Annandale Community tradition - the annual Flags for Our Heroes event. This is an opportunity to bring our community together in a moving tribute to local and personal heroes while raising funds for local charitable work.
In honor of the 250th U.S. Birthday, Annandale Rotary will fly 250 full-sized flags in downtown Annandale from Flag Day (June 14) to Independence Day (July 4). The American Legion is hosting 50 flags, and Fairfax County is hosting 200 at the Eileen Garnett Civic Space.
In addition to the flag display, we are hosting three events:
* Flag Day June 14 – Opening Ceremony. 3:00 PM Eileen Garnett Civic Space.
* June 28 – Community Appreciation Concert featuring the Josh Allen Band. 5:00-8:00 PM American Legion Post 1976.
* Independence Day July 4 – Closing Ceremony. 1:00 PM Eileen Garnett Civic Space.
Sponsoring a flag: Individuals or businesses may sponsor flags in the name of their heroes. Each flag will have an individual sponsorship sign, and the heroes' names will be included on our website through the end of July. If you would like to sponsor a flag, please visit www.Flags4OurHeroes.org
Interested in volunteering? There are plenty of opportunities to help out with this event! Installing and taking down the flags is a major effort. Fortunately, the local scouts will be helping us out, but we still need more support.
