Ballarat Interfaith Network invites you to join our Flag Raising Event in celebration of United Nations World Interfaith Harmony Week. After a welcome given by Ballarat Mayor Cr. Tracey Hargreaves and the raising of our unique Ballarat Interfaith Network flag, we will adjourn into the church for a keynote address from Jenna Oldaker. Jenna Oldaker is a Wadawurrung Traditional Owner and Aboriginal artist, based in Ballarat on Wadawurrung Country. An emerging artist in the field of visual arts, Jenna explores the sacred traditions of storytelling, culture and heritage through her brightly coloured and joyful artworks. This will be followed by short student speeches from senior leaders of Ballarat High School, Ballarat Grammar School, Mt Clear, Phoenix P-12 Community and St Patrick's Colleges; a prayer for peace offered by representatives of many faiths, and a children's choir from Mt Clear College.
Love of God, Love of the Good & Love of the Neighbour. World Interfaith Harmony Week is important because it promotes peace and celebrates humanity, and unity in diversity.
