Five Weeks of the Coen Brothers: Inside Llewyn Davis
🗓 Thursday, July 30 | ⏰ Doors: 6PM | 🎬 Film: 8PM | 📍 TicTic, Phnom Penh
Directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, Inside Llewyn Davis follows a struggling folk musician navigating New York’s Greenwich Village music scene in the early 1960s. Inspired in part by the life of folk singer Dave Van Ronk, the film stars Oscar Isaac in a breakthrough performance alongside Carey Mulligan, John Goodman and Justin Timberlake.
Winner of the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, the film captures a pivotal moment in American musical history just before the arrival of Bob Dylan. Combining melancholy, humour and extraordinary musical performances, it is widely regarded as one of the Coen Brothers’ finest and most emotionally resonant works.
