Learn about all kinds of seeds and growing them when Missoula Public Library hosts the annual Five Valleys Seed Library’s Seed Swap. The event will include a variety of gardening resources from local experts and organizations and include FREE SEEDS available for you to take home. Seeds to share or trade are welcome; bring your saved seed from your recent harvest to help keep this awesome program going. Don’t miss the popular House Plant Swap! Bring one, take one. Also, bring in your plant and garden books to trade them out for something new. This year’s speakers are:
Paul Buck, High altitude (CO & MT) Master Gardener – Seed-saving in Western Montana
Paul has over 15 years of gardening experience and has been saving seeds for 10 years. As a member of the Montana Native Plant Society, he has experience with collecting and raising native plants from seed. His presentation will focus on how to save seeds in this area.
Elaine Sheff, Founder of Green Path Herb School – Top 10 Medicinal Herbs
As a clinical herbalist, mom, and author, Elaine’s goal is to connect people to the earth, to plants, and to their own healing process. In her presentation, Elaine will talk about her top 10 medicinal herbs. She may
have some of her books for sale.
Kate Wilburn, Permaculturalist & local gardener – Getting Started with Native Plants & Wildlife Gardening
