The East Bank Regional Library (4747 W. Napoleon Ave. in Metairie) hosts an evening of sci-fi, paranormal, fantasy and horror authors on Monday, October 5, 7 pm. This event is free of charge and open to the public.
Panelists include:
Mark C. Scioneaux is a Bram Stoker Award Finalist, an Amazon Besteller, and an award winning author, editor, and screenwriter. He is the author of Inferno, The Cadaver Chronicles, and Poacher. He is co-creator of the cult hit Cannibal Fat Camp. He also is the author of numerous short stories appearing in various anthologies. His story "The Glass Coffin" was adapted as a short film. Horror for Good: A Charitable Anthology is an award-nominated anthology he edited. He is also the editor of Nightscapes, Blood Bank, and Tales from the Clergy. His newest anthology, GabaGhoul, is a collection of mafia horror stories.
SueBird Sparrow is a visually-impaired author from New Orleans. Her short stories have appeared in many anthologies, magazines, and journals. Her latest novel is The Devil Drinks Monsoons (Bayou Wolf Press, Oct. 2025.) She’s currently working on an historical revenge saga and a children’s book series about an adventurous blind iguana. SueBird enjoys dancing to blues music, memorizing drinking toasts, and hanging out with her companion tortoise, Gordon Ramsay.
Charles Bodenheimer – began his writing journey with the Detective-Noir-Giallo book series called The Crescent City Underground. The first book in the series, The Murders at Algiers Point, was his debut novel. He is working on the second book in the series titled A Dame Called Humidity. His latest book is the horror novel, The Nightingale Project. He’s also the author of the southern gothic meets creature feature short story Red Eyes in the Magnolias.
C. Ravyn - is an indie horror and thriller author known for her book, Where No One Looks. She has been featured at literary events in New Orleans, such as the Dark Drafts Book Fest hosted at the Port Orleans Brewing Company.
Kristen Illarmo - Kristen Illarmo is a young adult, science fiction and fantasy author examining possible futures shaped by the repercussions of our choices. Kristen's passion for exploring complicated family dynamics in the midst of crumbling societies drives her storytelling. She is the author of novels, Collapsing the Divide, Without a World, and Behind the Red Door.
