Caroline Shaw’s Plan and Elevation responds to the architecture and horticulture of Dumbarton Oaks, transforming the idea of a formal garden into an intricate musical landscape. Its shifting sonorities and rhythmic vitality offer a compelling contemporary counterpoint to Mozart.
