Info: Ever wondered how a simple idea turns into a fully functional competition robot? In this session, Olivia and Spencer will break down the Engineering Design Process (EDP) into practical, team-tested steps that anyone can follow. Whether youβre new to robotics or trying to bring more structure to your build season, weβll give you a solid foundation for using the EDP in your teamβs workflow.
Weβll walk through the six core steps of the process β from defining the problem to presenting solutions β and explain what each step looks like in the context of an FTC season. Youβll hear real examples of how our team used the EDP to overcome challenges, revise plans, and build smarter. Most importantly, weβll show how iteration is not failure β itβs a powerful part of the process.
Leave with a flexible framework you can use in your next brainstorming session, prototype sprint, or coding challenge.
