Fit Melanin Trot: Thanksgiving Edition

Join us on Thursday, November 27th for a 5k (3.1-mile) run or walk along the beautiful waterfront at Melanie's Park in Tacoma. Dance to beats by DJ Mike Ford, warm up with Free Flo Fit, move with BLK Summer Run Club, and recover with YOUniversal Fitness. This is a FREE event welcome to everyone: all ages, fitness levels, and cultural backgrounds!

About the trail: Expect a mostly-flat trail with slightly sloped or inclined areas. This trail is suitable for running or walking and accessible for all (follow this link and scroll down to 'Accessibility Information' to learn more).

What to bring: Your community (all family, friends, kids, dogs, neighbors welcome!), water, and sweat towel. In case of rain or sun, sunglasses and an outer shell are also recommended.

*Please note RSVPing to this event through Eventbrite is required for participation. Check in begins at 9AM with the event starting at 9:30AM.

Info: Please note RSVP is required to participate (liability waiver is part of the RSVP). Please RSVP through Eventbrite prior to arrival and have your confirmation ready to show at the check in station. Warm up will begin promptly at 9:30AM.

Info: Warm up with a pre stretch with Free Flo Fit.

Info: We'll run (or walk) along the waterfront trail of Melanie's Park. This is a "out and back" route, meaning we will reach a certain turn around point and then run/walk back towards the starting point. The route will be outlined for you prior to the run start and can be done at any pace.

Info: Cool down with stretches led by YOUniversal Fitness.

Info: Stay for light refreshments after the 5k and groove to beats by DJ Mike Ford. Don't forget to bring your own water bottle for the run/walk!
