The Library is honoured to host Dr. Karen Lee, author of Fit Cities for a talk and discussion on how your individual wellbeing & the health of a community can be designed & improved through our built physical & social environments. Dr. Karen K. Lee, MD, MHSc FRCPC is a healthy built environment and social determinants of health specialist, and an Associate Professor in the Division of Preventive Medicine at the University of Alberta. As a consultant, Dr. Lee has worked with over 40 cities globally to support human, environmental and economic fitness in municipalities, cities and towns, states and provinces championing improvements to our human-built physical and social environments. Dr. Lee grew up in and returned to Alberta in 2018.
Fit Cities presents case studies from all over the world, teaming with lessons learned from Dr. Lee's work .
