Interactive displays will be available throughout the session, allowing attendees to review and explore key components of the city’s finances. These displays will include budget overview information, visual charts highlighting major revenue sources and expenditures, and explanations of how funds are allocated to support essential municipal services.
Additional interactive stations will focus on the Municipal Service Fee, the city’s sales tax allocation structure and public engagement questions related to fiscal sustainability. Community members will be invited to share input by responding to guided questions, including, “How would you like to see the community engaged in the budget process in the future?”
City officials emphasized that public participation is a critical part of maintaining fiscal sustainability and aligning financial decisions with community priorities.
The exploration‑style format is intended to encourage open dialogue and allow participants to ask questions, provide comments and submit feedback during the session. All comments collected will be reviewed as part of the city’s ongoing financial planning efforts.
The City of Morgantown encourages all residents, business owners and stakeholders to attend, participate in the interactive displays and share their perspectives on building a financially sustainable future for the community.
