Join our staff for our First Saturday Domestic Program. Come see our Director of Education prepare some of our museum gardens for fall planting. Many cool season crops like leafy greens and root vegetables thrive in cooler temperatures and can be planted several weeks before the last spring frost or in late summer for a fall harvest. Prepare your soil by adding compost and ensure it's not too wet, then sow seeds directly or start larger transplants indoors for a successful harvest. Cool-season vegetables thrive in temperatures between 40°F and 70°F and can often withstand light frosts.
This event is included with General Admission and is included with your MS Agriculture Museum Foundation membership. https://www.msagmuseumfoundation.org/membership
