Hello FSCC Folks,Our April First Saturday Cars & Coffee (FSCC) gathering will be on Saturday April 4 at our regular location. As usual, thanks to our sponsors there will be no fee for attending our family friendly event. Our sponsors will be providing the first 50 cups of coffee and donuts free at our gathering room inside the Marketplace. Many thanks to our continuing sponsors, Wildcat Moving, and MotorVaultKY for making our gatherings possible. Also, thanks to the Blue Grass Stockyards/Marketplace for providing our regular venue. Please remember out of respect for our sponsors and the other attendees, we do not need speed shots or donuts on the asphalt. The event is hosted by Cadre Prime LLC. Note that this is a rain or sunshine event.
So, what happened at our March 7 gathering? We had GREAT weather for our gathering! It was a fun time for folks to gather around the coffee pot and share plans for the upcoming car season. Also, folks brought a very neat display of fifty very cool cars. Some of the notable included Aston Martin (from a classic DB6 to a new cabriolet), two classic Thunderbirds, a rare Volvo P1800, an extreme McLaren, a nice display of Porsches ranging from 914 to GT3RS, many beautiful Corvettes, BMWs, and even an early 1900’s Ford. You can see these and many other super autos on our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/media/set?set=oa.1290883012891530&type=3
.
Reminders for April – June:
1) Nominations are currently being accepted for judged cars at the 2026 Keeneland Concours. The display field has been expanded to 22 classes. The Ferrari class has been expanded to two classes. Other unique classes include: Military, Drag Racers, and Studebaker. You can get the latest information for interested entrants at https://keenelandconcours.com/entrants/. You can nominate a car at https://keenelandconcours.com/entrants/nominate-a-car/.
Also, if you are interested in volunteering to help at the concours, you can sign up at https://keenelandconcours.com/volunteer-sign-up/. Volunteering at the concours is a great way to enjoy this outstanding event. You will meet lots of neat folks and help a super charity (Kentucky Children’s Hospital).
2) Another calendar item is the Fourth Annual Kentucky State Police Classics Customs & Cruisers Car Show being held on Saturday, May 30, 2026. This year’s event will be held at 300 Sower Blvd in Frankfort. Members of our FSCC group will assist again in judging this event. You can get more information or registering your vehicle by checking their website at: https://carshowpro.com/events/view/2881. Note that we have provided judges for this event in the past. If you are interested in judging, let me know at [email protected].
3) In June the Keeneland Concours will be hosting it’s annual Maserati Mingle. We don’t have enough details to share at this time. However, this Friday evening free event is a fun family event featuring Classic Muscle, Classic Sports, Contemporary Sports, and Exotics. The event is a great promotion for the concours and a lot of fun. More info to come.
4) Also, the Keeneland Concours is on Saturday, July 19. Now is the time for car clubs to prepare for attending the Car Club Paddock area. Come on out and enjoy the paddock with 500 of your closest car friends. Check with your club to ensure they have their paddock space reserved. If there is no space designated yet, have your club contact get with me at [email protected]. Also, as an additional display recognizing 250 years, the Paddock is looking additional Military vehicles. If you have any leads, let me know at [email protected].
And now is the time to consider participating in the Paddock Challenge. Each year there are two awards given. The Paddock Trophy (for the club with the largest total donation) and the Paddock Plaque (for the club with the largest donation per car, NOTE there must be a minimum attendance of six cars per that club).
There has been lots of smack talk regarding this year’s trophy. The Porsche Club defeated the Sterling British Club in 2025 after SBC won the previous three years! SBC is determined to win in 2026. Winners of the Plaque over the past four years have been Corvette, Asian, Porsche, and SBS respectively. All monies collected are included in the annual donation to the Kentucky Children’s Hospital. The cumulative Paddock Challenge donation from 2004 through 2025 was $161,491.20. This ongoing charity activity is a recognition of the contribution by our car community in giving to support our greater charity community. Thanks to all clubs for their annual gifts.
If you have car event items you would like to share, feel free to do it at a FSCC gathering or on the FSCC facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/264105264537999/.
Come on out and play in the ‘Yard’.
