DETAILS: An open mic in a true "listening room" environment!
Open to performers and listeners with no cover charge. Bring your best ORIGINAL songs and prepare to listen and be listened to. This event occurs on the FIRST MONDAY of every month.
TO PARTICIPATE: Performance is in order of signup at the beginning of the event. Sign up is in person at the door beginning at 6:10 pm in the order of arrival. Due to the popularity of this event, you must be signed in by 7:15 pm if you want to be guaranteed to play. The host reserves the right to cut off signups once the list reaches 18 participants.
FORMAT: In order to accommodate as many performers as possible, each performer will perform TWO original songs, with a 10 minute time limit. If time permits after the list is exhausted, each performer may do ONE additional song in the same order as the signup list. We will begin PROMPTLY at 6:30 pm and end at 9:30 pm.
Please remember, as a performer you are also an audience member. Please be respectful of your fellow songwriters. We are here to be heard, but also to listen. When you are not performing, you are expected to be an attentive and supportive audience member. Out of courtesy to the artists and audience, absolutely NO TALKING during the performance.
Finally, this event is possible due to the generosity of The Peoples Room of Mobile. Purchases of beverages and tips (suggested donation of $5 or more) are highly encouraged to help pay for the costs of this event.
