Join us as we welcome Michele McDonald, former photo editor at the Portland Press Herald. Prior to her time at the Herald, Michele worked as a staff photojournalist at the Concord Monitor in NH, the Virginian-Pilot in Norfolk,VA, and at the Boston Globe
Michele has been a MacDowell Colony visual artist fellow, a Pulitzer Center grantee, a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in feature photography and a juror for the Pulitzer Prizes in photography. She currently teaches photojournalism at Northeastern University in Boston.
Pulling from her experience as a visual journalist Michele will talk about how to create truthful and authentic images that reflect the unique perpective of the photographer in a way that feels fresh and original. A way that hasn’t been seen before.
