A father's perspective: Pregnancy and Infant Loss
Join us at for a Fathers and Families Network series presentation that you will not want to miss. Brandon Mauer is a retired Massachusetts State Police Detective out of the Berkshire County DA’s office with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology from Westfield State University. Currently, He currently works as a Court Investigator as well as a monthly father’s support group facilitator with 18 Degrees. He has coached all levels of youth basketball for nearly 20 years and was the head coach of Pittsfield High School Boys’ Varsity Basketball for 4 years. Brandon will share his personal story of a child without a positive male role model and how through interactions with others, he became the man he is today.
Participants will develop a deeper understanding of effective engagement strategies with men/fathers who did not have positive male role models. The presentation will include statistics and lived experiences that provide a better understanding of their client base. and teach providers to promote rapport and confidence building with first generation fathers and/or fathers that are struggling.. There will time at the end of the presentation for a question and answer period.
