First Friday with Christy Branson

Join Uptic Studios for a First Friday reception on Friday, February 6, featuring the work of Christy Branson, an acclaimed encaustic and mixed-media artist whose layered, atmospheric pieces explore form, process, and the evocative spaces between landscape and abstraction.

Christy’s work is grounded in a slow, tactile practice—building rich surfaces through the fusion of melted wax, pigment, and fire. Her paintings exist at the intersection of sculpture and image, balancing intentional mark-making with organic emergence to create compositions that invite close, contemplative viewing.

This First Friday exhibition brings Christy’s encaustic and mixed-media works into the gallery at Uptic Studios, offering the Inland Northwest creative community an opportunity to experience her work up close within an intimate studio setting. The evening celebrates process-driven art, material exploration, and the shared energy of Spokane’s First Friday Art Walk.

The event will take place at Uptic Studios, 402 E Sprague Ave, from 5:00–8:00 PM. Light bites and refreshments will be provided.
