Join us for an exciting Westerly’s First Fridays Arts Crawl with lots of venues to explore for art, performance, music, and community activities. Uses the online map and yellow art stop signs to locate participating venues.

Enjoy stepping into Denny Caruso’s studio over at 32 Friendship St. Head to the rear of the building for Studio H and explore her new expressive paintings.
Visitors to the Artists Cooperative Gallery in the historic train station are invited to view the October show which is an all members show and is one of the most diverse of the year. A broad selection of two dimensional and three-dimensional original art can be found, including rich oils, vivid watercolors and acrylics, soft pastels, drawings, encaustics, a wide range of photography as well as pottery, art glass, woodwork and handcrafted jewelry.
Hop across the street to AiR Studio Gallery, at 19 Railroad Avenue. (Editors Pick for the Best of Rhode Island Contemporary Art). Where you will find a wall of 100 collages made from vintage magazines by Sarah Short, a mixed-media abstract collage artist and Charlestown, RI native. The exhibit also features 24 larger collage works inspired by them.
On Canal Street at Westerly Camera & Darkroom, ‘Enjoy the photography exhibition, by Chelsea Mandes, Before the World Burns, Photos from the American West.
At Tapped Apple, 37 High Street, Boston based, artist Joane Buteau Dumont, explores her place in the world through paintings that express the full range of emotions, inviting others to share in this journey of ‘Humankind’.
Moving along to 47 High Street, visit Studio 208 where Antonio and Kevin Gilmore will share new paintings and no doubt some sonic experiments emerging from the space! Cristina Querrer in Studio 211 will share her new large-scale work. Before you leave be sure to stop by at the Living Shark Museum in Studio 202 and enjoy their legendary Jaws Anniversary Exhibition. A “must-do” for Jaws fans according to Hey Rhody.
Continue down to 12 Broad Street at Red Couch Studio artist George Baptista, Susan Cole Stone, Jennifer Pescatello, Susanne Badgett, and Scott Gordley invite you to explore their new work.
Just across the Pawcatuck River at 1 Broad Street, Owl and Dove restaurant and bar will be showcasing artwork by Helen Roy. A self-taught artist, educator and learning disabilities specialist, Roy hopes her colorful vibrant paintings can help transform an observer’s dark emotion into a brighter outlook. Working in acrylic, oil and a combination of oil and cold wax, some of her work consists of clean lines and geometric shapes, while other pieces are abstract seascapes or non-representational.
Over at Westerly Library and Wilcox Park in the Hoxie Gallery, 44 Broad Street, you’ll find the exhibition Gathered Memories by artist Ivona Herzog-Verbeke. The exhibition includes a range of water-soluble oil work, with the occasional piece of watercolor, colored pencil, or pen-and-ink
End the night at one of Westerly’s many restaurants.
