First Friday @ Uptic Studios with Anna Boswel Abel

We are excited to invite you to our upcoming Artist Exhibition at Uptic Studios, featuring the work of Anna Boswell Abel.

Join us for this special First Friday event on Friday, May 2nd, as part of Spokane's First Friday tradition. Anna Boswell Abel’s exhibition, Profusity, addresses the pressing issues of consumerism and waste through abstraction and collage. Constructed from discarded clothing, her pieces aim to give new purpose and permanence to what is often thrown away. This collection, built through community contributions, highlights the staggering impacts of fast fashion industries and the collective determination to create meaningful change.

Profusity is a series bound by compassion, collaboration, and a drive for sustainability, inviting viewers to reflect on their own habits and consider new possibilities for reimagining waste.

First Friday is a monthly celebration of Spokane's downtown art and retail scene, taking place on the first Friday of each month from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Attendees can explore various venues throughout downtown Spokane, enjoying art exhibitions, live music, and special offerings from local retailers and restaurants.

The event at Uptic Studios will run from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, offering you the opportunity to view Anna’s thought-provoking artwork, meet the artist, learn about her creative process, and connect with fellow art enthusiasts. Light bites and refreshments will be provided.
