First Friday: Live Music Series
Mike Mattson and Teresa Weaver have been playing guitars and singing together, for thirty-four years. They've performed at the Smoky Hill River Festival, Salina Farm and Art Market, Kansas Sampler Festival, meetings, schools, libraries, museums, nursing homes, coffee shops, and at many other celebrations. Teresa comes from a musical family and has made music with family and friends for most of her life. In addition to the guitar, Teresa plays piano and upright bass; she played in the Salina Symphony for thirty years. Mike was a solo act for several years, until he decided to find a female singer with him. Teresa and Mike met at the Salina Mennonite Church; they decided to get together and "jam.” After jamming, they realized together their voices blended and harmonized well. Both Mike and Teresa get a lot of enjoyment from playing and singing for people.
Canyon Cocktails is a Veteran Owned and Operated mobile bar experience based in Salina Kansas. They bring the bar, the charm, and the good times.
Liam Deniau-Young is the artisan and entrepreneur behind Spindle & Chisel Woodworks, where he transforms locally sourced wood into functional pieces with a modern, handcrafted feel. He gravitates toward clean lines, subtle details, and designs that let the grain, knots, and imperfections become part of the story of each piece. From cutting boards to decorative objects, his work reflects a deep respect for both material and craft.
Liam just graduated from Salina Central High School and is looking forward to starting college this fall! His First Friday showcase at Red Fern Booksellers highlights his growing body of work and his belief that everyday objects can also be art—useful, beautiful, and rooted in the place they come from.
