Kick off the new year with a fresh start and a breath of fresh air by joining one of our guided hikes on New Year’s Day! After the holiday hustle, there’s no better way to reset than by stepping into the serenity of nature, surrounded by Arizona’s stunning landscapes. These hikes offer a perfect opportunity to set intentions for the year ahead, clear your mind, and reconnect with the outdoors. From gentle walks to challenging treks and a park ranger and volunteers to guide you, there’s a trail for everyone to enjoy as we celebrate new beginnings in Arizona’s beautiful state parks.Remember to wear the appropriate shoes and bring plenty of water, a camera, and your sense of adventure! All hikes are dependent on weather.
📍Buckskin Mountain State Park at 10 a.m., walk through the cactus garden and campground
📍Catalina State Park at 9 a.m., 3.2-mile guided hike
📍Dead Horse Ranch State Park at 10 a.m., 3-mile guided hike
📍Homolovi State Park at 10 a.m., 2-mile guided hike
📍Kartchner Caverns State Park at 10 a.m., 2.5-mile guided hike
📍Lake Havasu State Park at 10 a.m., 1.7-mile guided hike

📍Lyman Lake State Park at 10 a.m., 1-mile guided hike
📍Oracle State Park at 10 a.m., 1.5-mile guided hike
📍Patagonia Lake State Park - hike canceled, boat tours at 9:30 and 11 a.m.
📍Picacho Peak State Park at 10 a.m., 1-mile guided hike on the Calloway Trail or 3.2-mile guided hike on the Hunter Trail.**Registration required at azstateparks.com/picacho/events/first-day-hike-at-picacho-peak**
📍Red Rock State Park at 9 a.m. for birding walk or 10 a.m. for guided nature walk
📍Riordan Mansion State Park at 2 p.m. (lasts approx. 1 hour)
📍Rockin' River Ranch State Park at 10 a.m. - 1.7-mile guided hike
📍Slide Rock State Park at 1 p.m. - 1.5-mile guided hike
