First Day Hike - Isle du Bois

Looking to start the New Year off right? Do it outdoors with a hike at the Isle du Bois Unit!
Whether joining for one hike or all three hikes to participate in the Tri-Park-A-Thon, we invite you to come celebrate the new year with some of your favorite rangers as we hit the trail. These programs will be a group hike with a moderate pace.
Isle du Bois Unit - 2nd Hike of Tri-Park-A-Thon
When: Jan. 1, 2026, 11 AM - 12:30 PM
Meet: Isle du Bois Unit - Boat Ramp parking lot. Look for the sign.
Trail: Randy Bell Scenic Trail - 2 mile paved trail with some inclines - Trail rated Easy

Who: All ages
Dogs are invited but must be on a secure leash (please no extendable leashes), up-to-date on vaccinations, and socialized around other people and dogs.
Bring: water, trail shoes, and dress for the weather.
Reminders: All ranger-led programs are subject to weather cancelations.
Please dress for the weather.
Attendance to this event is open to the public and free AFTER regular entrance fees.
Park frequently meets capacity and reservations prior to arrival are encouraged to ensure entrance into the park. Visit texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com to make day pass reservations.
