As mentioned before, we're starting with this book…The Wedding People by Alison Espach is a novel about Phoebe Stone, a woman at rock bottom after her marriage ends, who unexpectedly befriends the bride, Lila, at a lavish Newport wedding she's not even attending, leading to a story about unexpected connections, self-reliance, and finding new paths. The book is praised for its humor and emotional depth, exploring themes of love, loss, and the messy reality behind picture-perfect events, and was a #1 Indie Next Pick and a Today Show #ReadwithJenna Book Club pick.
Since it's only two weeks before our first event and not that much time to get the book and read it, it will be a book club meeting but also an opportunity to get to know each other!
The first one will be at my apartment in Marlton right off of Route 70 (next to the Chicken or The Egg), so feel free to BYOB and bring a snack as well to share (not necessary though!).
