Begin your new year's birding list by getting outdoors and discovering the birds that spend winter at Seven Islands State Birding Park! On this guided hike, participants will join expert volunteer birders to search for songbirds, raptors, winter migrants, and other species active during this season. Starting the year with birding is a great way to deepen observation skills, connect with the landscape, and build excitement for birdwatching in the year ahead.
This program is recommended for adults and families with children ages 10 and up who have an interest in birds and nature. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 9:00 AM. Be prepared to walk 2–3 miles over both paved and unpaved surfaces. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The hike will last up to 3 hours, and binoculars are recommended; a limited number may be available to borrow.
The cost of this program is $6 per participant. Children under 5 are free with a paying adult.
Please come prepared with good walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, a water bottle, and binoculars if you have them. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
