First Ascent Day: Discover Climbing, Connect with Nature
Have you ever wanted to try rock climbing but weren't sure where to start? First Ascent Day is designed for beginners, families, local businesses, community groups, and anyone curious about climbing and the outdoors.
Join us for a FREE climbing event at beautiful Astral Valley Art Park, just about an hour south of St. Louis. Experienced climbers and volunteers will be on hand to help you take your first steps on real rock in a fun, welcoming environment.
No experience is necessary. All ages are welcome.
If you can climb a flight of stairs, you can climb a rock!
In addition to climbing, you'll have the opportunity to connect with local businesses, outdoor organizations, and nonprofits while exploring one of Missouri's most unique outdoor destinations.
Camping is available for an additional fee for those who want to make a weekend of it.
