We at Our Community Reads, are excited to host our First Annual Fundraiser on October 11th, 2025, with a goal of raising $35,000 to sustain and grow our literacy-centered youth and familyprograms.
Our Community Reads was founded in December 2020 as a grassroots, women of color-led
nonprofit committed to creating safe spaces where Black children feel seen, valued, celebrated,
and empowered. Our mission also extends to nurturing the inner child of the caregivers we
serve—inviting healing, joy, and shared learning across generations.
