First Aid Training @ Penfield Ambulance - 03/19/2025

FIrst Aid emergencies occur every day resulting in over 145 Million Emergency Room visits a year, taking more than 350,000 lives a year. So why not learn the latest guidelines and update for medical First Aid?

Penfield Ambulance's goal is to get as many community members involved in learning First Aid to help in the aid of an emergency and reduce the number of lives lost.

This course reflects science and education from the Latest Guidelines updates for First Aid. It teaches the basics in First Aid Care. This class will meet pre-requisite requirements for general job requirements, OSHA, healthcare providers, and USCG for First Aid Medical training.

The Heartsaver First Aid course trains participants in first aid basics for the most common first aid emergencies, including how to recognize them, how to call for help, and how to perform lifesaving skills. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).

Objectives:

• First aid basics
• Medical emergencies
• Injury emergencies
• Environmental emergencies
• Preventing illness and injury

In the Instructor-led course, students participate in simulated clinical scenarios and learning stations. Students work with an AHA Instructor to complete skills practice and skills testing.

*This training class is FREE to attend for all Penfield & Webster residents, however, a certification card (valid for two years) may be obtained for a nominal fee.
