Fireside Chat with Friends of Panthertown and Watershed Association of the Tuckasegee River

Come out to the Friends of Panthertown office on July 23rd to meet and greet both the Friends of Panthertown staff and the Watershed Association of the Tuckasegee River's staff to find out more about how we can all protect the water sources we so heavily rely on. We'll collect freshwater macroinvertebrates, talk about how they're water quality indicators, and enjoy some s'mores by the fire after cooling off in the creek on a hot summer day.
WATR is a grassroots organization working to improve your water quality and habitat of the Tuckasegee River Basin. The Tuckasegee River watershed supplies the drinking water and ecosystem foundation for Swain and Jackson Counties. What happens upstream, downstream, and all around the watershed impacts all of us directly.
Throughout the summer, Friends of Panthertown is highlighting a different conservation organization monthly by having them come by the office in downtown Sylva, inviting the public to come meet the staff of that partner organization, to find out what they're doing in the community and how to get involved with different non-profit organizations. This month, Friends of Panthertown is highlighting the Watershed Association of the Tuckasegee River (WATR).
