There is special power in live storytelling, not only for the performer but also for the listener. To bear witness to someone else’s true, first-person story of joy, pain, struggles, and victories brings connection in the most magical of ways.
So come catch “night butterflies” with us!
We kick off the event with three featured storytellers. We then select other storytellers by picking names out of a hat. If you would like to participate, please come prepared with a piece no longer than five minutes on the selected theme*.
*October Theme: SPIRITS
Here are some suggested story ideas:
Is there a time you believe you were visited by spirits?
Do you have a core memory of a spirited occasion?
Do you have a story of a notable time when drinking spirits was involved?
Have you felt moved or driven by an “inner spirit”?
Is there an important story that comes to your mind when you hear the word “spirits”?

We will be randomly selecting three participants from the audience to guest judge the stories. The winners will be asked to read during our end-of-year Writers Showcase.
