Take part in a magical evening at Pecar Nature Center exploring the world of fireflies—Indiana’s state insect! This all-ages night hike will take you along our trails as we search for fireflies and learn about the fascinating science behind their bioluminescence. Discover how and why fireflies flash, and what makes them so special in our ecosystem.
Participants are strongly encourged to bring a personal flashlight. A red tent filament will be provided for the flashlight to help reduce the impact of nocturnal animals.
Glow sticks will be provided to make the glow experience even more fun!
