Fire Station Field trip 🧯
October is **Fire Prevention Month**, and we’re excited to give our homeschool families an opportunity to learn about fire safety through a fun, hands-on experience at the fire station!
This event is designed with all ages in mind, from our youngest learners through high school. Each child will have the opportunity to learn in an age-appropriate way while getting an exciting behind the scenes look at what firefighters do every day.
👧 For our little ones:
Our youngest learners will have the opportunity to meet firefighters, see their equipment, explore the fire station, and learn that firefighters are there to help and protect us. We want children to feel comfortable and confident around firefighters rather than afraid of them.
🧒 For elementary-age students:
Students will learn important fire safety skills, explore how firefighters respond to emergencies, see the equipment they use, and participate in hands-on hose handling and other activities that bring their learning to life.
🎓 For our older students:
Older students will get a deeper look into the world of firefighting, including learning about oxygen tanks, firefighter equipment, what happens behind the scenes at a fire station, emergency response, and the responsibilities firefighters have when serving their community.
🔥 And there’s more!
Families will have the opportunity to explore the station, ask questions, see equipment up close, participate in hands-on activities, and discover how fire safety connects to everyday life.
This is more than just a field trip. It’s an opportunity for our homeschoolers to learn, ask questions, build confidence, and experience real world education together.
Learning happens at every age, and there will be something for everyone!
We can’t wait to learn, explore, and thank our local firefighters for all they do to keep our community safe!
