Help us transform Fire Station 47 from an empty patch of dirt into a thriving, drought tolerant native garden — and you can make it happen. The El Sereno Bicentennial Committee is leading Project 47 to raise $5,000 for plants, soil amendments, mulch, drip irrigation, tools, and supplies. On Sunday, 08/16/2026 at 8:30 AM we’ll host a community planting day — families, neighborhood groups, businesses, and schools are invited to roll up their sleeves, plant together, and leave a lasting gift for our firefighters and the whole El Sereno community. 🌿🚒
Why this matters: after the recent drought the station’s turf died and the site now sits bare and uninviting. A native, water wise landscape will cut maintenance, conserve water, support local pollinators, and improve curb appeal for the people who keep our neighborhood safe. Fire Station 47 has long given to our community — from parades and holiday events to safety demos and fundraisers — now let’s give back. 💧🐝🏡
How you can help:
• DONATE: Every dollar counts. Scan the QR on our flyer or contact Genny Guerrero to give (El Sereno Bicentennial Committee, 501(c)(3), Tax ID 23-7365319). 💚💳
• VOLUNTEER: Join us 07/26 at 8:30 AM — bring gloves and water; tools and light snacks provided. 🧤💧🪴
• SPONSOR / IN KIND: Businesses and groups can sponsor plants, mulch, or tools — we’ll acknowledge supporters publicly. 🤝🌱
• SHARE: Can’t attend? Share this post to spread the word. 🔁📣
Contact & donate: Genny Guerrero [email protected]. Let’s come together to beautify Station 47 and show our gratitude — donate, volunteer, or share today! 🙏✨
