All ages are invited to join the Lenexa Fire Department for bounce houses, a burn trailer demo, live vehicle extrication, mini fire truck races, a hotdog lunch and more.
SCHEDULE: All-day activities (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
Meet firefighters
Fire truck, ambulance, helicopter and station tours
Mini fire truck races and bounce houses
Hands-only CPR training
Hot dogs and chips (while supplies last)
SPECIAL ACTIVITIES:
11 a.m. — Vehicle extrication demonstration. Major car crashes sometimes leave passengers trapped inside the vehicle until the fire department can get them out. Watch as firefighters cut open a staged wrecked car as if someone was trapped inside.
noon — Live side-by-side fire sprinkler burn trailer. Come watch how quickly a small fire can spread and see the difference that a home sprinkler system can make.
