PROJECT DESCRIPTION from LEAD ARTIST Antoine Justin:

We are creating an interdisciplinary community event that brings together art, music, and social impact. The centerpiece will be a cypher and open mic night where local artists use their voices to address urgent social issues. Alongside performances, we will host booths from nonprofits and charities, giving them space to share resources and connect directly with the community. 100% of ticket sales will go towards participating charities and nonprofits. To extend the impact, we will produce a documentary that captures the entire process—from organizing to performance—and create a collaborative music project titled “Amerikkka Is on Fire" which will feature multiple East Bay Area musicians. By blending live performance, community engagement, and multimedia storytelling, this project uplifts local voices while sparking dialogue around justice, identity, and resilience. the live charity show will take place in March 2026, and the documentary will be released officially in April 2026.

“America is On Fire” is more than a documentary to me - it’s a living record of community, resilience, and art in motion. The project centers around an open mic and charity event that brings people together through poetry, music, and conversation, but the film will capture not just the event itself, but the story of everything leading up to it: the planning, the deadlines, the stress, and everything else it comes with.
