Join us for a free, hands-on evening at the New Hanover County Arboretum, where you’ll learn to make your very own batch of Fire Cider—a powerful, immune-boosting tonic—customized to your taste! 🌿✨
This workshop will be led by Kathryn Sisler Waple of Seagate School of Holistic Herbalism, who will guide you step-by-step in creating this traditional herbal preparation. Discover the benefits of ingredients like horseradish, garlic, turmeric, citrus, and more, and learn how to personalize your Fire Cider to suit your preferences.

What to Bring:
• A Wide Mouth 16oz - 24oz Mason Jar for your Fire Cider 🫙
• Any additional herbs, spices, or ingredients you’d like to include for a personal touch! (We’ll provide all the traditional ingredients, but feel free to get creative!)
What We’ll Provide:
All traditional Fire Cider ingredients (e.g., horseradish, garlic, onion, turmeric, citrus, rosemary, etc.)
A handout that includes:
- The benefits of Fire Cider
- An overview of ingredients and why they’re included
- A complete recipe for making Fire Cider at home
- Additional resources for continued herbalism learning

Meet Kathryn Sisler Waple
Kathryn is most passionate about teaching and has been teaching herbalism classes in the Wilmington area since 2008. You can find her current program offerings through the Seagate School of Holistic Herbalism at www.seagateschool.com. She offers workshop series, one on one mentorships and also collaborates with other herbalists for a wide variety of program offerings.
