Join the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra for a morning of passion, colour, and storytelling in Fire & Silk, led by Sergey Smbatyan and featuring acclaimed pianist Simon Trpčeski.
The concert opens with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, famous for its iconic opening and sweeping Romantic grandeur. Simon Trpčeski joins the MPO for this masterpiece, blending soaring lyricism with bold virtuosity.
The orchestra then takes centre stage for Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade, an enchanting symphonic suite inspired by One Thousand and One Nights. Through vivid orchestration and evocative storytelling, each movement unfolds like a living tale, painting mesmerising musical narratives.
