Celebrate the winter season during Sturgeon Bay’s community-wide Fire & Ice Festival presented by Destination Sturgeon Bay, February 14-15.Help kick-off Fire & Ice festival weekend with a candle-lit hike at Crossroads at Big Creek on one of their trails in the enchanting glow of luminaries from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday, February 14. Warm up around a toasty campfire with hot chocolate, heart-shaped cookies, and the good company of people after your hike.
Saturday, stroll around town to witness novice and professional carvers turn blocks of ice into works of art beginning at 9 am! Destination Sturgeon Bay member businesses have sponsored 20 ice blocks this year. Carvers of all ages and skill levels will compete for cash prizes and the People’s Choice Award.
Hike, snowshoe, cross-country ski, or simply explore on Saturday at Potawatomi State Park during Winter Trails Day presented by The Friends of Potawatomi State Park. Join the Friends in the warming shelter at the picnic area on the park’s south shoreline for refreshments and to warm up by the fire, 11 am to 1 pm.
If you miss those ice carvers throughout Sturgeon Bay, be sure to visit Crossroads at Big Creek for an ice harvesting demonstration with volunteers from the Madden Tool Museum from 2 pm until 4 pm, demonstrating how ice was gathered in Sturgeon Bay in the 1800s.
All sorts of other fun winter activities will be happening throughout Downtown Sturgeon Bay, in addition to ice and snow carving. Third Avenue PlayWorks will host an Indoor Winter Market from 10 am to 2 pm. Cherry Lanes Arcade and Bar will have live music by WAMI - nominated singer-songwriter, Tyler Sj, and will have two specialty drinks for the weekend: Fire Old Fashioned and Glacier Martini. Don’t forget to stop at Popelka Trenchard Gallery & Glass Studio, 12 pm to 2 pm, for free glass blowing demonstrations! Wickman's 2 Brews will also be serving a Fire & Ice themed beer, and will also have several warming stations available for folks throughout the day!
There will also be live music by Glas Hamr that will take place at Kitty O'Reillys, beginning at 5 pm, along with other Fire & Ice Party festivities.
All are welcome to enjoy free Door County Trolley rides from 10 am to 3 pm. Trolley stops will be located at Bay Shore Outfitters, T. Simon Jewelers, Cherry Lanes Arcade Bar, Third Avenue PlayWorks, and Door County Fire Company.
Saturday evening the excitement continues during the annual Fire & Ice Gala with a dinner and auction. Enjoy live music by F.B.I & The Untouchable Horns and a special new gala theme: Roaring 20s!

Destination Sturgeon Bay will once again partner with Handbid Online for an online silent auction featuring over 60 amazing, local products from businesses around Door County. The auction opens for bidding on Friday, February 7 at 12:00 pm and will close on Saturday, February 15 at 10:00 pm. All are welcome to participate! More information can be found at SturgeonBay.net.
