Tasmanian-born, London-based Finn Rees returns to his hometown to launch his new EP 'Feel The Sun' live at one of Hobart's hottest underground venues 'Ticcle'. Transforming the space into a live in-the-round jazz club for the first time.
Following his highly acclaimed debut album 'Dawn Is A Melody' in 2024, Finn has gained traction locally and internationally having recently sold out two shows at the iconic Ronnie Scott’s jazz club in London and becoming one of the most sought after keys players in the jazz scene. After playing at Clarence Jazz festival earlier in the year, his ensemble will return to his hometown for a special intimate show in the heart of Hobart/lutruwita.
Finn returns from UK/Europe with a 6 piece ensemble for an exciting run of Australian shows promoting his new EP 'Feel The Sun' coming out on Mr Bongo. Finn is known for his melodic and heartfelt compositions and arrangements delving into spiritual jazz, cinematic soul, and Brazilian fusion influences. This new work is his most groove-heavy and energetic yet. For fans of Arthur Verocai, Kamasi Washington, Alice Coletrane or Chick Corea. Not to be missed!
