Finding Your Walden, Part 2

An intimate discussion about striving less, simplifying, & embracing what matters most, to have a more MORE MEANINGFUL LIFE
About this Event

Join us for an intimate discussion about striving less, simplifying more, and embracing what matters most, to have a MORE MEANINGFUL LIFE.

The follow-up to Jen Tota McGivney & Michael Graff's opening fireside chat

Part two of our fireside series on Jen Tota McGivney’s Finding Your Walden focuses on Thoreau's words and Jen's modern re-telling. Jen will sit down with Brian Kletch, owner of Petty Thieves Brewing Co., for an in-depth discussion of the five principles Henry David Thoreau laid out in his 19th-century classic, Walden.

Thoreau wrote about simplicity, self-reliance, and intentional living long before “work-life balance” entered the vernacular. Jen and Brian will take the ideas from Walden Pond and bring them into Charlotte culture. What do these ideas look like today -- when you’re running a business, raising a family, or trying to figure out meaning and purpose?

If you caught part one, this is the next step.

If you didn’t, the conversation stands on its own, and there’s no homework.

Just like part one, we’ll have no slides, no corporate speak. Just two people working through powerful thoughts for life in the 21st century and asking you to join the conversation.
