Join us Wednesday, March 12th at theMid Valley Performing Arts Center, Taylorsville for a 6 PM Reception and 7 PM Panel Discussion.
Family histories hold many truths about who we are and can shape the ways we view ourselves and each other. But when our past holds difficult events, characters and outcomes, how do we understand that story? How do we heal from mistakes and trauma of the past?
The PBS program Finding Your Roots explores many of these challenges through our nation’s history of war, racism and prejudice. Join us for a panel discussion moderated by KUER’s Elaine Clark featuring genealogist/historian Dr. Amy Harris, artist Michelle Franzoni-Thorley, and historian/genealogist Connell O’Donovan. We’ll watch clips from the PBS series and discuss celebrating our past while still facing its complications head on.
Seating is limited. Please RSVP to [email protected]
