Finding Your Female Ancestors, presented by Tom Price, Genealogist
Tracing female ancestors can sometimes be one of the more challenging parts of family history research. Because women often changed their surnames through marriage and were sometimes recorded with fewer details in historical records.
Participants will learn practical strategies for uncovering these often “hidden” ancestors by exploring records such as marriage documents, census listings, probate records, church registers, and local histories. This session will provide helpful techniques for piecing together clues and bringing the stories of mothers, daughters, and grandmothers back into your family history.
Wayne County Genealogy Group is held on the 4th Thursday of the month, from 4:30pm to 5:30pm.
FREE, and open to the public.
All levels of genealogists, from beginner to advanced, are invited.
