Live Forever Project’s 2025 production “Finding Sheboygan” will feature the stories of Janet Ross, an elder from Sheboygan who has been a pillar in the community in many ways. This show featuring her stories will take us through the journey of her life and how she contributed to the development of many aspects of Sheboygan, including the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, the Literacy Council, the formation of a local church, the League of Women Voters, and the Peace Coalition. The production is completely original, written by local Sheboygan creatives. It integrates theater, music, songwriting, poetry, dance, visual art and other forms of storytelling to convey Janet’s life story from a personal perspective as well as how it has intertwined with important aspects of local and national history. At the same time, the story expresses the importance of Janet’s own artistic journey throughout her life and how it is an integral part of who she is.
Followed by a reception and Story Exchange event in which community members can share their own life stories and creative work.
