Most of the time in conversations we aren't really listening, we are just planning our reply and we often don't check or clarify our understanding so we jump to conclusions and assumptions. Further, there is often a real reluctance to entertain viewpoints that differ from our own. The skills of active listening and non-violent communication effectively break down these barriers. As an experienced journalist, broadcaster and podcast workshop facilitator, Karim Mosna will guide participants through active listening skills, curiosity and open-ended questioning.

These skills are not limited to journalists and podcast hosts, they can be applied to navigating difficult and sensitive conversations with family and friends.
